Maternity sessions are best reserved in advance, ideally before week 26 of pregnancy.
Once your collection is chosen, we’ll schedule your session between weeks 28 and 34, when your bump photographs most beautifully.
Sessions are available in New London, Connecticut --trust me, it is worth the drive.
Every session begins with an email consultation and questionnaire to refine the details of your vision. This intentional planning creates a seamless experience from the start and ensures every element feels thoughtfully designed.
You’ll have access to our carefully curated collection of gowns and wardrobe pieces, chosen for their elegance, timelessness, and ability to photograph beautifully.

We invite mothers to arrive with hair and makeup ready allowing the session to flow effortlessly. For those seeking an elevated touch, trusted makeup artist recommendations are provided during your consultation. We also provide a collection that includes makeup only in New London.
On the day of your photoshoot, every detail is directed with care, striking a balance between natural ease and refined composition.
The result: imagery that feels both effortless and editorial.
After your session, you’ll enjoy a private viewing to select the images that resonate most. Your final collection is delivered via an online gallery link.

Maternity Collections
The best time to capture maternity photos are within weeks 28-34
Every collection includes wardrobe, studio space rental, photographer with 10 years of experience to guide and pose you throughout the photoshoot. Photos are selected by you and then hand-edited, retouched in the most natural way possible. Artistic digital dreamscape portraits are also available upon request, beautifully created to bring your vision to life. Sessions can be booked as early as week 20 to secure your spot.

I'm expecting, how early can I book?
Congrats <3 I always say researching and reserving a photoshoot between your weeks 18-25 is IDEAL because it gives us enough time to plan for the session which will take place between your weeks 27-33.
Can I keep the original RAWs/unedited?
No, RAWS are not given since they are not a reflection of the finished work
How do I book a photoshoot?
Booking a photography session is easy. Simply reach out to us through our website contact page or Instagram, and let us know the type of session you're interested in. We'll guide you through the process, discuss your requirements, and find a convenient date and time for your session.
I don't photograph well and I'm super awkward, can you help me?
Absolutely! I understand that not everyone is experienced with being in front of the camera. It's my job to guide you starting with sending you inspiration photos before your session! Next, I do advise practicing in front of a mirror especially for solo portraits. In addition, coordinating your outfits and trying them on prior to your photoshoot is a must.
On the day of your session, the goal is to ensure you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the session.
You're about 2 hours away. Is it worth it?
YES! Finding a photographer that has the same style that you envision for your session is absolutely worth the drive!!
At Michelle Elizabeth Photography, we focus on both editorial, black and white styled sessions, capturing maternity portraits like it belongs in a magazine!
We can also recommend makeup artists near us or near you!
Why do I only receive X amount of images?
The best comparison I can give is..RAW/unedited images is like a pizza carefully constructed but not cooked yet.
Only final, edited images are delivered because they have been baked with LOVE & additional images are always available for purchase.
How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?
We understand the anticipation of seeing your final photos. The editing process typically takes 3-4 weeks from the day your favorites are selected, depending on the volume of images and the complexity of editing required. We prioritize quality and attention to detail to deliver exceptional images that exceed your expectations.
Hair & Makeup
Arriving ready is essential!
Highly recommend booking glam studio for an additional fee.
Whether its DIY or booking a makeup artist, the photoshoot is YOUR closeup day. Enjoy it by starting off with pampering yourself.
*Everyday makeup or trying to do your makeup on that day is not advised for studio photoshoots. Soft glam is key.
Recommendations near you or close to the studio are also available.

Can I choose the location for the photoshoot?
Absolutely! We believe that the location plays a significant role in capturing unique and personalized photographs.
As a traveling photographer, I go to New London, Hartford, New Haven, Stamford studios in Connecticut along with one in Union County, New Jersey.
In-home Newborn Session
CT: YES! It is a studio lighting style newborn session. I provide this offer as a combo for moms who I have photographed their maternity session.
Props, lighting are brought along to the session according to what we plan in terms of colors and setup.
